NEWS HP has won a contract to supply PCs to British Airways (BA), as well as being awarded the airline's coveted 'preferred supplier' status. The contract is worth £10m over a guaranteed two-year period, during which BA is expected to purchase thousands of HP Vectras and OmniBooks. Nigel Allam, desktop business manager at BA, said: "Following a thorough evaluation of a number of suppliers, HP scored best on both cost and quality." IBM has retained its 'preferred supplier' status for PC servers although HP has now become a secondary supplier of servers to the airline.
