Microsoft and Samsung to develop mobile browsers

NEWS Microsoft and Samsung Electronics have agreed to develop and design a range of mobile handsets for next generation networks. The GSM- and CDMA-compliant handsets will be developed to use Microsoft's micro-browser Mobile Explorer as well as its smart-phone platform based on the Windows CE operating system. The two companies expect the handsets to be available with Explorer in the second half of 2000, with the smart-phone platform to be unveiled in 2001. They have also announced plans to work with 3G operators to develop applications for broadband networks.
