By Dominic Maher, 18 July 2000 12:25

NEWS United Airlines service, run in conjunction with mobile ASP software from Geoworks, that allows customers in the UK to access flight information via SMS-enabled mobile communications devices is live today. The service will be rolled out in the US later this year. The Mobile ASP service will allow passengers to request and receive details via text message such as flight times and delay status, gate information and cancellation notices in advance of travelling from Heathrow airport. Mobile ASP enables companies to relay real-time information to customers who use WAP-enabled mobile phones, PDAs or pagers.
