NEWS Business telecom group Energis is to launch a wireless division this autumn after finalising a virtual operator agreement with Orange. Under the three-year deal, Energis will use the Orange network to provide customers with a range of voice, data and internet services under the Energis brand name. The deal also allows Orange to use Energis' national network and to sell Energis fixed line services to Orange customers. An Energis spokeswoman told silicon.com that the move had been prompted by customer demand. "Fixed and mobile communications are moving together. Customers want an integrated service reliably delivered wherever they are." She added that the deal was non-exclusive and Energis was planning future agreements with other mobile operators.
