Psion announces Symbian flotation

NEWS UK handheld devices maker, Psion has said it will float Symbian - the alliance created with Ericsson, Matsuhita, Motorola and Nokia to develop the Epoc wireless operating system. The flotation will be subject to Symbian's continued progress in the lucrative handhelds market and favourable conditions in the financial markets. The announcement came as Psion reported pre-tax profits of £3m for the last six months.
