Lastminute.com buys £60m French travel firm

NEWS UK online discount retailer Lastminute.com has bought French travel company Dégriftour for almost £60m. The deal is being financed with £27.1m in cash and the issuing of 19.7 million new shares. Dégriftour is an online vendor of unsold airline tickets and last year reported a gross profit of £9.1m. Founded in 1991, it originally sold last minute travel deals over France's Minitel system.
