NEWS The Mobile Information Device (MID) profile standard will be used on handsets from companies including Motorola, Nokia and Siemens. Based on the Java 2 Platform Micro Edition J2ME, the MID profile will offer interactive services and information feeds from telecommunications companies including EasTone, One2One and Telefonica. According to Sun, the technology will allow programs to run on various devices without the need to rewrite the software for each.
