Siebel and Nokia collaborate in wireless venture

Siebel Systems and Nokia are jointly to develop, market and sell mobile ebusiness applications in a bid to speed up deployment of wireless devices.

NEWS As part of the agreement Siebel ebusiness applications will be able to run on Nokia's WAP server. Both Siebel and Nokia will initially target communications, financial services and healthcare industries as well as technology companies. T Kent Elliott, senior vice president and general manager of Nokia Internet Communications, said: "By combining the market-leading Siebel ebusiness applications with Nokia's wireless internet solutions, companies now have access to reliable, scalable and secure mobile internet ebusiness services." Earlier this month, Nokia also announced an agreement with Compaq to co-sell products, such as the Compaq ProLiant servers installed with Nokia's WAP server software, to enterprise customers.
