The doctor will receive your Nokia transmission now

Nokia and Mehiläinen, a private hospital in Helsinki, Finland, have developed a home diagnosis service using mobile technology.

NEWS The service conducts cardiovascular diagnostics, measuring a patient's pulse rate, blood pressure or ECG (electrocardiogram), with a mobile phone. It then sends the results straight to healthcare professionals at the hospital. The trial network has been established with Finnish operator Sonera and Uniqmed, a Finnish signal measurement company. The treatment uses software developed by Uniqmed and involves measurement of vital signs of the human body, transmission of the information over a GSM network and processing of the information.
