Cisco decides networking is not coming home

Cisco and 3Com have indefinitely postponed plans to release products for home networking onto the market.

NEWS Cisco announced last June that it would release 'Residential Gateway' at the beginning of this year. The intention was to enable residents of a networked household to perform a range of household tasks via a remote, web-based connection. According to reports on CNET, the release has been shelved due to fears that demand in the nascent market would not meet previous expectations. By Asmira Veletanlic
