NEWS Motorola, which employs over 6,500 workers in three plants in Scotland, is forcing shop floor workers in its mobile phone assembly plant, to take holidays between 9 and 20 April. This decision follows hard on the heels of last week's announcement that Motorola may make a loss for the first quarter of 2001. The company blamed the economic slow down in the US for the drop in handset sales, adding that it will take action to reduce costs.
