NEWS The record industry has accused Napster of dragging its feet in order to gain maximum press coverage. Over the past couple of weeks the site has had the record industry breathing down its neck. The Record Industry Association of America (RIAA) alone has demanded that it removes half a million titles from its systems. Speaking on behalf of the RIAA, Jano Cabrera said: "Software companies have demonstrated ways of effectively filtering out copyrighted material. Napster is simply trying to delay things, as they have done in the past. They're focused on a public relations strategy and they are using the press." The RIAA will use the court appearance to complain that Napster has not been removing the files as quickly as possible. Last night it refused to discuss the specifics of the injunction or what it hopes the outcome to be.
