Psion turns its back on handheld market

NEWS Handheld computer manufacturer Psion has decided to stop making Bluetooth handheld computers and focus on providing businesses with digital network solutions. As part of a radical restructuring of its business strategy, the company has abandoned plans to launch its Bluetooth PDA and wireless connectivity products. The company will also slash 250 jobs and take a one-off charge of £29m to deal with the restructuring costs. Psion shares plunged 20 per cent in early morning trading. More to follow...
