Official: mobile phone masts won't fry your child's brain

That's alright then...

NEWS An official report has found no evidence that dangerously high radiation levels are emitted by mobile phone masts and base stations. The Radio Communications Agency is half way through a study of emissions at 100 schools, the Independent on Sunday reports, and has so far found that electromagnetic radiation levels are in most cases "thousands of times" below accepted guidelines. A rather pleased spokesman for One2One is quoted by the paper as saying: "People should take some reassurance from these figures. They confirm what the industry has been saying." But the critics will undoubtedly need more persuading that the structures are in fact safe. The industry claimed for years that mobile phone handsets are entirely safe, but have caved in to lobbyists and will now include details about radiation emission levels on all packaging. The Radio Communications Agency has surveyed 48 out of 100 target schools.
