Lycos happy to peddle porn to kids

'I've seen worse' says MD...

NEWS Pictures of explicit sexual acts are being made readily available to kids by internet portal Lycos - and the company doesn't seem to care. The pictures, which replace the operator logos on mobile phone screens, clearly depict all manner of sexual acts and a number of pornographic poses, which can all be bought from a premium rate phone number run by Lycos charging £1.50 per minute. Martino Corbelli, marketing manager at SurfControl, was surprised to see Lycos selling the images and believes they are far too graphic for young children to see. Corbelli said: "If I had kids I would definitely not want them to see them. Images like these shouldn't be openly available like this." Alex Kovach, the UK managing director at Lycos said: "Out of the 1,000 logos we offer we have never received a complaint." Kovach added: "We'll keep on selling the images as we don't consider them to be a serious issue. We think they're not that outrageous when you compare it to what the competition is offering."
