Would you disagree?

NEWS The ultraviolent cyborg played by Arnold Schwarzenegger has been nominated as the top movie robot of all time in a poll of film fans. Terminator, released in 1984, established muscleman Arnie as an eighties screen icon, though his trademark robotic acting style never seemed quite so appropriate in his other screen roles. Second place went to R2D2, the chirruping trashcan who trailed around after Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars films. The Tin Man who went to see The Wizard of Oz about a heart transplant brought a musical flavour to the chart at number 10, despite some doubt about whether he is really a robot. The poll was conducted by Total Film magazine.. Who would you nominate as your top screen robot? The lovely Maria in Fritz Lang's 20s classic Metropolis? Or the megalomaniac Daleks from Doctor Who? Or Data, the pasty-faced android in Star Trek: The Next Generation? Post a comment below with your choice for Top of the 'Bots.
