BT has finished with its Genie

You've got to wonder what it wished for...

NEWS O2, the newly re-branded wireless division of BT, is set to ditch mobile portal Genie. Genie offers mobile internet connectivity as well as a range of SMS and other mobile services. However, O2 has decided to have nothing more to do with Genie when it is spun off from BT. According to the Sunday Times BT had considered adopting the Genie branding for the whole wireless division, but has now decided to do away with it altogether instead. Genie is losing £40m per quarter.
