Crisis in US fails to touch Siemens CEO

Siemens boss glosses over US tragedy with 'I'm alright Jack' attitude...

NEWS Following statements from Oracle and Computer Associates that their predictions for the coming quarters will be impacted by the terrorist attack on New York, the head of German electronics firm Siemens said he did not expect his company's business to be affected. CEO Heinrich von Pierer told the Financial Times his company's limited exposure to the US would shield it from any adverse effects. The statement was taken by analysts as somewhat of a 'faux pas' and downplayed by his own company as referring only to the short term. Siemens is looking to expand in the US, where the mobile market still has some potential for growth.
