Vodafone says world recession won't stop 3G

Too far down the 3G road to turn back now...

NEWS Chris Gent, CEO of Vodafone, has said world recession will not stand in the way of the company launching 3G services in the second quarter of next year. Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Gent said he was undeterred by fears of falling demand for handsets and mobile services in a climate of recession and said the company is still on course to meet its projections for availability of 3G services in most of its markets by the middle of next year.
