It's official: Women love technology more than men

Britons can't get enough of their electronic devices...

NEWS Women think technology is more important than men do - in fact they want to put it at the heart of family life. Seventy-nine per cent of women think technology is important, compared to 71 per cent of men. Little wonder, then, that Britons spend an average of 25 hours per week on some kind of entertainment or communication device - a quarter of their waking hours. Television is the top entertainment choice, keeping Britain happy for 14 hours a week, with three hours of video fun and an hour of DVD watching to plug those awkward moments when there's nothing good on the box. Surfing the net keeps people away from the telly for three hours a week, and computer games keep us happy for another hour. But in case you thought that the UK was in full-scale retreat from reality, we still turn the telly off for two hours a week to make fixed-line calls, and another hour for the mobile. NOP and Critical Research surveyed 2,100 adults across the UK.
