Virgin becomes first US virtual wireless operator

NEWS Virgin has formed a joint venture with US carrier Sprint PCS to become the US's first mobile network operator. Virgin will sell prepaid mobile phone services under its own brand using Sprint's network. Virgin will contribute $50m in cash to the new company named Virgin Mobile USA. Sprint will contribute $50m in services.
