KPN in further turmoil as mobile chief exits

It doesn't get any easier...

NEWS KPN is parting company with the chief executive of its mobile division Diederik Karsten. Karsten will leave the company next month and be replaced by former group CEO Paul Smits, the Financial Times reports. This is the latest blow for the troubled Dutch telco as it continues to find ways to reduce its E22bn (£17.3bn) debt mountain. Plans to merge with Belgacom were shelved last month as well as a planned flotation of the company's mobile business.
