Transmeta axes chief

Transmeta regret-a not hiring someone betta...

NEWS Transmeta chief executive Mark K Allen has been replaced after just seven months at the post, following his disappointing performance. The move comes days before the struggling chipmaker announces its financial results, which are expected to include a 50 per cent drop in revenues. Transmeta chairman and former Motorola executive vice president Murray Goldman will take the CEO position. The company has been hit by the general technology downturn and the delay in the launch of its new Crusoe processor.
