BT faces angry investors

And unions aren't all that happy either...

NEWS BT is facing its investors today at a meeting that will also be attended by several hundred BT workers protesting its decision to split the company up. The Communications Workers Union believes a spun-off mobile division will be a tempting takeover target, putting members' jobs at risk. BT believes selling off mmO2, its newly-named mobile division, will help it cut debts. Support from large investors means the plan is likely to go through despite the protests. The extraordinary general meeting is being held in Birmingham.
