Sony: 'Watch out .NET'

Giants join forces to oust Microsoft...

NEWS Electronics giant Sony is making partnerships with both AOL Time Warner and Nokia to build browsers, electronic devices and a broadband network to bring internet-enabled technologies into the home. Speaking at Comdex in Las Vegas Sony president Kunitake Ando said: "This is not some faraway dream". Although the speech was short on details analysts felt it was a defensive alliance against Microsoft's encroachment into home entertainment. Sony is working on home networking technology called "Feel", which allows different devices to be connected up easily.
