RIM stung by patent claims

Blackberry firm named in US lawsuit...

NEWS A group of US inventors are suing RIM - the company behind the Blackberry pager - claiming eight patents registered by the company already belong to them. The inventors claim RIM's patented system of redirecting mail from corporate systems to wireless devices infringes upon patents held by them under the company name of NTP. RIM has 20 days to respond to the claim, filed with the District Court in Virginia. In a statement today the company said it believes NTP's complaint is unsubstantiated.
