NEWS Eurotel, Radiomobil and Cesky Mobil - all potential owners of Czech 3G mobile licences - have won a major victory forcing the Czech government to cut the cost of third generation spectrum in half. Originally UMTS licences were priced at Kc6.7bn (£126.4m). But after a threatened boycott by telcos unsure of the returns they would get from voice and data services, the government has lowered the entry price to Kc3.5bn (£66m). Sealed bids for the single-round auction are due this Friday.
