Symbian OS licensed to Fujitsu for 3G

Another licensing deal in the East...

NEWS Fujitsu has announced it has licensed the Symbian operating system which it will place at the heart of future 3G phones. Although the Japanese giant is likely to consider other software too, the deal is another strong win for Symbian, which counts mobile handset giants Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia among its owners and users. Other Japanese vendors to have licensed the Symbian OS include Kenwood, Panasonic, Sanyo and Sony. Matsushita is also a Symbian stakeholder.
