NEWS Belgacom has offloaded its French operations as it continues its retreat from one of Europe's most competitive mobile markets. The Belgian telco has sold Belgacom France to telecoms group LDCom for an undisclosed fee. The company has withdrawn from a number of foreign markets since it announced ambitious expansion plans two years ago. Last year the company was involved in prolonged on-off merger talks with Dutch rival KPN.
