Palm unveils next-generation PDA

Ooooh, shiny...

NEWS Palm has taken the wraps off its latest PDA an all-singing all-dancing wireless model that bears an uncanny resemblance to a Compaq iPaq. The US-only Palm i705 can be activated with the Palm.Net wireless service to provide an always-on internet connection. The company offers coverage in over 260 metropolitan areas across the US. The handheld features the latest Palm OS 4.1 operating system and is roughly the same size as its previously top-of-the range Palm 505 model, weighing in at an ounce more. The i705 is powered by a Motorola Dragonball VZ 33MHz processor. The PDA has a monochrome screen and an expansion slot to boost the 8MB memory by an additional 64MB, with an option to add expansion cards.
