Emblaze strikes wireless video deals

That all singing, all dancing mobile future gets a bit closer

NEWS Emblaze Systems has signed a deal with Digital Animations Group which could mean an animated character delivering video messages over future mobile phones. Israel-based Emblaze, formerly GEO, reckons the relationship will start to contribute to revenues by the end of the year. The company will rely on selling the technology to equipment makers and telcos around the world. In a separate deal, Emblaze Research, the company's semiconductor and research arm, has teamed up with IXI Mobile to work on Bluetooth-enabled digital cameras that can be connected to mobile phone networks. Video cameras connected in a similar way will be shown off at next month's 3GSM World Congress event, though widespread roll out is still some way off.
