Honey, I shrank the PC

IBM makes tiny computers...

NEWS IBM's research division has shrunk the desktop computer into a device the size of a PDA without diluting its computing power. The portable computer module is a mere five by three inches big and has 128MB of dynamic random access memory (DRAM), a huge 10GB hard drive and a microprocessor that runs at a huge 800MHz. Named MetaPad, the tiny device slots into an outer casing with a flat screen that increases its size by an inch all the way round. However, IBM has no plans to sell the device for a few years while it researches potential uses for it and works on its compatibility with wireless technologies. The module can also be plugged into a docking station to transfer its stored data into a PC.
