NEWS NTT DoCoMo is in talks with the third largest German mobile operator, E-plus, about taking its highly popular i-mode service to the largest economy in Europe. DoCoMo has become Japan's highest valued company due to the success of its mobile content wonder. The Japanese telco is already set to roll out its service in the Netherlands and Belgium through its Dutch partner Royal KPN NV in April. KPN recently bought out Bell South's 22.5 per cent stake in E-plus to add to its previous 15 per cent stake which means it has control over the company. DoCoMo has 15 per cent of KPN's unlisted wireless subsidiary KPN Mobile NV. A Japanese daily paper reported the German service may kick off in March.
