Vodafone gets £2bn windfall

That'll do nicely...

NEWS Vodafone has today confirmed the receipt of £2.2bn in cash on the sale of its 50 per cent share in the Atecs Mannesmann engineering group. Vodafone announced plans to sell the group to Siemens in January as part of a bid to cut its debt mountain. It confirmed today it received E3.66bn (£2.2bn) for the engineering and automotive business. Shares rose two per cent in morning trading.
