Will Europe get i-mode before 3G?

If NTT DoCoMo has anything to do with it...

NEWS NTT DoCoMo is bringing its wireless data transfer service i-mode to Europe in time for German technology fair CeBit next month. The Japanese giant and its European partner KPN will roll out i-mode in Germany under the E-Plus brand, with launches also planned for the Netherlands and Belgium (For more information, see http://www.silicon.com/a51404 ). KPN will be hoping i-mode will fill the void in Europe created by the promises of 3G services and their subsequent and ongoing failure to materialise. CeBit kicks off on 13 March in Hannover, Germany.
