Hutchison 3G deals Nokia a blow

'We don't want your hardware', says UK 3G player

NEWS Hutchison 3G has dealt Nokia a blow by opting to work with NEC and Siemens on the roll-out of its network infrastructure. Hutchison had asked the Finnish mobile giant to supply it with radio equipment for its network in London and the south of England last April. But that contract has now gone the way of an NEC/Siemens partnership. Nokia is still on course to supply the equipment for Hutchison's networks in the north of the country, the Wall Street Journal reports. Hutchison plans to get its 3G services up and running this September.
