BT offers unified billing

Deal achieved through tie-up with mmO2...

NEWS BT has sealed a deal with former subsidiary mmO2 to offer unified mobile phone billing to business and residential customers. The agreement will see BT offer its customers one bill for mobile and landline calls. BT also said the deal could also see it re-entering the consumer mobile phone market but insisted its focus was on the business sector, the Financial Times reports. BT provides business mobile contracts through an existing deal with mmO2. The new agreement will see the telco become a virtual mobile operator, reselling network capacity it purchases from mmO2. BT is also expected to announce a raft of new data services such as mobile email or its business customers.
