BT and Vodafone jostle for Irish 3G

NEWS BT and Vodafone are back bidding for 3G licences, this time in Ireland. Two years after the two firms spent billions on next generation mobile spectrum, both have confirmed they will hoping to gain access to the Irish market. BT, in the shape of mm02, and Vodafone currently have a 97 per cent of the Irish mobile market. They will be joined by Hutchinson Whampoa, which also confirmed it had submitted a bid.
