One2One stores face mass closure

Re-branding exercise underway...

NEWS German-owned mobile operator One2One is to close a fifth of all its UK stores after a 'rationalisation' by its parent Deutsche Telekom. The news was circulated in an internal memo to staff and is the result of a shift in the telecoms market, reports The Times. The change in strategy will see a further 100 jobs lost at the firm, and the closure of 30 of its 138 stores. A Deutsche Telekom spokesperson told the paper the move was unrelated to the current re-branding of One2One as T-Mobile. The job cuts are in addition to 900 staff laid off by the firm late last year.
