NEWS NTT DoCoMo is expecting new subscriptions to be 30 per cent down this financial year. The company expects to attract 3.3 million new users in the 12 months ending 31 March 2003, compared with 4.75 million new subscribers for the financial year just ended. DoCoMo also saw 2002 subscription rates fall 30 per cent on 2001 levels. DoCoMo did not comment on the figures, but said it would release fiscal year plans when it reports full year earnings in early May. Shares fell over five per cent today on the news which also had a sever knock-on effect for Vodafone (http://www.silicon.com/a52557 ).
