NEWS Moviles, the Spanish mobile phone operator owned by Telefonica, turned a massive 85 per cent rise in first quarter profits, beating analyst expectations and spreading some much needed cheer to the telecoms sector. Profits rose from E154.7m to E287m as subscriber numbers rose above 30 million. Analysts thought profits of E251m were likely.
