Openness is the new black...

NEWS Nokia and Siemens Mobile have joined forces to work on a framework to create and promote the implementation of mobile devices based on open standards. Siemens has agreed to license the Series 60 software platform and work with Nokia to further develop it for implementation in Symbian OS-based smart phones. Peter Zapf, president of Mobile Phones at Nokia claimed it is the first time hand-set vendors and software developers have worked this closely to develop interoperable applications for any mobile device.
