Alarm system targets mobile phone thieves

Alarm does the shrieking for you once your mobile has been snatched...

NEWS Mobile phone thieves are being targeted by an alarm system that will alert the public to their snatch and grab tactics. A cord wrapped around the user's wrist and attached to the alarm system on the phone at the other end completes a circuit which, when broken, lets out a 140 decibel shriek The Kobra alarm system was designed by London-based firm Allied Commercial Developments. London's Metropolitan Police are reported to be showing interest in the device, which it is hoped will prove a deterrent to the capital's growing bands of mobile phone thieves.
