Diabetics to get mobile reminders

Don't 4get 2 take UR insulin...

NEWS UK doctors are to launch a text message-based scheme to ensure diabetic youngsters remember to take their insulin and control their blood sugar levels. The SMS reminder service, dubbed 'Sweet Talk', is being trialled by Dundee University. There are around 20,000 young people with Type I diabetes in the UK, according to a report on the BBC and it is believed as many as a quarter of these sufferers regularly forget to take their self-injected dose of insulin. With most youths now regarding a mobile phone as an essential accessory, it is hoped the service will help improve the health of these forgetful sufferers.
