NEWS Many people trying to send text messages on the O2 network today have been unable to send messages due to a fault, the company has admitted. O2 engineers prevented many users from sending messages today when upgrades being carried out on the business's switching network in Bristol interfered with the service. A spokeswoman from O2 said: "Technical upgrade work being undertaken at the switch site at Yate in Bristol affected the texting service for about one and a half hours. People in Bristol and parts of Greater London were affected." The problem has now been fixed.
