Mobilcom chief set to back down?

France Telcom could get its way...

NEWS Mobilcom's chief has indicated he might be willing to back down from his demand of E22 a share for the sale of his stake in the company to France Telecom. The two companies have been locked in a bitter battle to prevent Mobilcom sliding into bankruptcy. The dispute focusses on Gerhard Schmid's determintation to roll out 3G services using France Telecom's money. Schmid initially said he would step down as CEO for the price of E22 a share. A source has told the Wall Street Journal Schmid has in private backed down on his original price demand.
