NEWS A machine has been invented that can make the squeakiest and weakest of voices sound 'calm and manly', according to its Japanese inventor Yuji Sato. Sato claims his machine can help even the most high-pitched tones sound deeper and more resonant, resulting in the appearance of greater confidence and authority for public speakers. The device takes a recording of the voice in question and subjects it to voice chromosome changes to develop the tone, speed and volume. While the machine can currently only be used for pre-recorded messages, Sato is working at Hosei University in Tokyo to develop a real-time voice processor, according to Ananova.
