i-mode comes to Spain

Hola? Konichiwa!

NEWS Telefonica will launch DoCoMo's i-Mode platform in Spain next year after it licensed the Japanese technology. Telefonica plans to introduce the service in the first half of 2003 under its mobile internet service brand name 'e-mocion'. The licence will run for five years. One and a half million users out of Telefonica's four million mobile customers already use the e-mocion service. Mobile operators in Belgium, France, Germany and Holland have already licensed i-Mode and DoCoMo is said to be in talks with Italian operator TIM.
