NEWS Vodafone has given its support - and financial aid - to two streakers who invaded the pitch at a tri-nations rugby match in Australia. The two streakers interrupted play at the Bledisloe Cup match in Sydney last Saturday, each wearing nothing but a strategically placed Vodafone logo. Grahame Meher, managing director of Vodafone Australia, said he had been contacted by a man named Brett earlier in the week who asked if the business would financially back his streak. Meher agreed to cover any fines incurred from the stunt, which interrupted play between the Vodafone-sponsored Australian Wallabies rugby team and the New Zealand All Blacks. The Bledisloe Cup match was hosted at the Olympic stadium in Sydney which is sponsored by Vodafone's Aussie rival, Telstra. The stunt is expected to cost Vodafone around £3,500.
