Orange hopes pay-as-you-go users will get new Abbey habit

Top-ups through cash machines

NEWS Abbey National and Orange went live today with the UK's first cash machine-based mobile top-up service. The service is available to Abbey National's 15 million customers who also have an Orange Pay As You Go phone. It has now been rolled-out across all of Abbey National's 3,000+ cash machines following a trial which has been running since May at five ATMs at Abbey National head office sites.. Top-ups are available in values of £10, £20, £30, £40 and £50. Customers have to follow a few simple steps via the cash machine screen after which point the top-ups will be applied to their phones "within seconds", the company said.
